Californian Wine
Californian wine does not begin and end with the Napa valley. From Mendocino on the rugged coast far north of San Francisco, down to Temecula, midway between Los Angeles and San Diego, are fertile vine growing areas growing every variety of grape and producing every style of wine including sparkling, sweet and fortified. Some of the main varieties of grape are Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot, Petite Syrah, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Syrah & Zinfandel. The grape and the wine does not stop there the Californian climate is perfect with microclimates producing different conditions for grapes of the same varieties. Californian wine is excellent, competing with the world’s best.
