The red rose became the Valentine flower from Roman festivals of the time. A short story espoused has the history beginning as: Roses, the traditional flower of Valentine’s Day, come from a Roman legend of a woman, named Rodanthe. She was pursued by many suitors who finally became so impassioned they broke down the doors of her house. This enraged the goddess Diana, in anger turned the woman into a Rose flower and her suitors into a thorns on the stem. Valentines, Valentines Day and Valentine flower giving particularly Valentines Roses is an age old dedication of love. Its good to know that love still make the world spin and that we are all romantics at heart, Viva la Valentine!!!
