Whisky Single Malt Scotch Islay & Isles
Scotland, home of Scotch whisky. Purists know that Malt Scotch is the best and that Single Malt Scotch from individual distilleries each carry the characteristic of the grain, malting, brewing, the local water, the still, the peat from surrounding hills, the barrels for storage and even the air surrounding the laid down casks of whisky spirit all add to the uniqueness of each individual distilling. The Scotch Isles including Orkney, Jura and in particular Islay (pronounced Eye-Ya) have particular pronounced flavours. Some of Scotland oldest distilleries originated and still produce the most wonderful ( and some say best) Single Malt Scotch in the World. While the Oban distillery is on the Scottish mainland we have added it to Island Whiskies section due in fact to the proximity and character of that individual Malt.
