The legend of Boschendal wines goes back to 1685. This wine made from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes creates a unique blend of two noble cultivars These wonderful grapes are grown on cool mountain slopes with deep gravel soils which infuses the grape with rich tones and depth of flavour. The Chardonnay component contributes a richness and is the backbone to the wine. while Pinot Noir adds the fruit and elegance with its characteristics hints of ripe red berries. This pale red copper wine is a unique combination in every aspect and a wine made with care and commitment, gentle oak maturation giving it the potential to age well if not enjoyed right now Boschendal Chenin Blanc 2007 from the Paarl region of Franschhoek. The Chenin Blanc grape is responsible for some of the finest dessert wines in the world, from many appellations in the Loire Valley, including Bonnezeaux, Quarts de Chaume, Vouvray and Coteaux du Layon. It also produces some dry wines in the Loire, and is also widely planted in South Africa, where it is known as Steen, Typical characteristics of the sweet wines of the Loire include quince, honey, herbal tea and minerals. The Boschendal Chenin Blanc is a well balanced medium dry wine with a distinctive, exotic passion fruit nose and an appealing honey flavour in the mouth.
