This is a hand crafted, distilled, matured, bottled, un-chilled filtered and colouring free sophisticated Islay award winning single malt whisky. The Bruichladdich Rocks which carries the sub title The Rhinns of Islay, are set in a land apart on their island of the west coast of Scotland. This innovative single malt created by the head distiller at Bruichladdich whose skill from Barley to bottle fashioned this whisky while harnessing natures whim, has created a beguiling and complex west of Islay Dram. Bruichladdich alone uses water that has filtered up through the oldest rocks in the whisky world. The curious 1.8 billion-year-old geology of the Rhinns of Islay are unlike any others in Scotland where the rock filtered water is so absolute in purity. When this pure water is married to the fine Barley maltings with the head distillers skill and distilled in the unique Victorian Stills at Bruichladdich it is easy to understand how this unique whisky gains such profound repute. Bruichladdich pronounced Book-Laddie(The Gaelic for raised beach) is privately owned and run with passion by true artisans on the West coast of Islay. The distillery built in 1881 runs with much of the old Victorian machinery to this day. The Islay spring water used has filtered through the million year old rock Gneiss on the island ensuring the ultimate purity. This Single Malt is Hedonistic, Mellow, Rich, Nutty, Exotic, Honeyed with hints of fruit. This is an extremely pure single malt of the highest quality and somewhat rare.
