The Pol Roger Extra Cuvee de Reserve Vintage Champagne 1998, This is a rich and flavoursome Champagne being a blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay a blend style appreciated by Winston Churchill. This Pol Roger Champagne of 1998 vintage has grape sourced from up to 20 vineyards including Champillon, A', Ambonnay, Mareuil, Chigny, Rilly, Bouzy. The Chardonnay grape, originating in vineyards of Le Mesnil, Vertus, Oiry, Cuis and Chouilly, each of which is classified as Grand and Premier Cru. The Pol Roger Champagne Extra Cuvee de Reserve Vintage Champagne 1998 has a colour of pale straw. The nose is seductive, nutty enthusing a fresh honey-tinged richness. The palate soft, crisp, gentle and creamy of nature emanating in an effortless finish with excited bubbles of foam nose tickling character which continue that creamy sense up until the last lingering note. A very complete Champagne. It is a sign of pure excellence that Poll Roger Champagne is the Champagne company who are by appointment to HM Queen Elizabeth II.
