Glenkinchie 12 year old Edinburgh Single Malt Whisky has a dry refined character born just twenty miles from Edinburgh, the Scottish capital naturally making Glenkinchie or The Edinburgh Malt. Its aromatic smoothness brings to mind cut flowers and creamy lemon cheesecake. Crisp and focused, with a herbal, drying finish, this is an ideal aperitif and partner to smoked fish, sushi or scallops. George and John Rate founded the distillery in 1837. Rebuilt 60 years later, it boasts two great copper pot stills said to be amongst Scotlands largest. Today Glenkinchie is just one of three distilleries to survive in the Lowlands of Scotland; Glenkinchie draws its water from a source in the Lammermuir Hills and aging its spirit for 12 years in Oak casks. It is Glenkinchie amid the rolling barley fields of the Scottish South that is a classic Scotch Single Malt Whisky, true to its origins, distilled in the same way in the same place as always. Classic Malts are selected on one basis only and that is quality of pure taste.
