Southern Comfort is a fruit, spice, and whiskey flavored liqueur produced since 1874. It is made from a blend of peach, orange, vanilla, sugar, whiskey, and cinnamon flavors. It is a mistake to believe that Southern Comfort is bourbon whiskey based, it is based an a neutral grain spirit and the brown colour is added with caramel coloring. Southern Comfort can be served over ice on its own or as a useful base for several cocktails.
